Spatestens since the light fair in weismain, the carnival season is approaching. Colorful fabric garlands are strung across the street and at the town hall is drawn attention to the foolish days and the kaulhazn carnival. The carnival committee with oberkaulhaz "till" franz besold at the helm and the city of weismain with andrea goldner and their comrades-in-arms are fully involved in the planning for the carnival season.

The high point will be when homegrown "till" franz besold gets into the butt and gives the people and the politicians a piece of his mind. The gaudiwurm will again on carnival sunday, 23. February, at 13 o’clock in the hafnergasse to the departure line up.

Cooperation in wine marketing

cooperation in wine marketing

"We shouldn't take the butter off each other's sandwiches." This is not the opinion of a dairy farmer, but of the managing director of a large wine cooperative in franconia. Michael schweinberger receives approving nods from his colleagues. The cooperation between GWF, divino nordheim and winzerkeller sommerach has long been sealed.
The three managers are hoping to achieve the synergy effects they are relying on. However, there will be no major changes for the employees or the customers: job cuts? In no case. Price increase? Currently not planned. Cost savings: but for sure.
The decision-makers from the three cooperatives have gathered in the meeting room of the winzerkeller sommerach: together, they account for 65 to 70 percent of the sales generated by frankenwein in the german food retail trade (LEH). Seven out of ten bottles of frankenwein purchased in 2011 came from the cooperatives.

A fiercely competitive market

Food retailing is a prestigious and fiercely competitive market. The annual talks at the large food chains cost a lot of substance year after year, and every cent is fought for there. "We can now negotiate at eye level", schweinberger is pleased. "We no longer want to be blackmailed."
The cooperation expands the product range. The GWF's branded wines are complemented by the premium wines of the winzerkeller and divino. So far, they have hardly been able to score in the food retail sector, because in some cases they have not been able to offer the minimum quantities required. "We can offer the perfect complement to the high rotation of the GWF", says the managing director of the winzerkeller sommerach, frank dietrich. He speaks of a conclusive assortment of frankenwein and of a completely different impact, which is to bring frankenwein forward throughout germany.
Schweinberger rejects any suspicion of price fixing. In terms of antitrust law, the three cooperatives are far too small a light in germany, he says. It was never a question of agreements, but of a joint strategy. "The same costs are spread over several shoulders", he clarifies.
Storage, order processing, logistics and accounting are handled centrally at GWF. In return, the winzerkeller sommerach is taking over the same work steps for a new GWF range that is to gain a foothold in the specialist trade. The full plant in repperndorf can also be used by the people of sommerach and nordheim. Not only, as before, for the discount assortment, but also for the food retail assortment. Dietrich sees the long-term financial effect: "this cooperation protects us from investments that would otherwise have been necessary."

In neustadt, families can find advice on parenting issues

In neustadt, families can find advice on parenting issues

The coburg region has long presented itself as family-friendly. Whether through the "family policy guidelines, the "family office" staff unit, the establishment of local alliances for families, the parental talk project, the introduction of the family card, and welcome bags for all newborns. In this respect, it was a matter of course for the district, said district administrator michael busch yesterday, to apply for a demand program of the bavarian state government, which wanted to structurally develop family education in the municipalities and to establish so-called "family support points" for this purpose establish so-called "family support points".

At the family center of the city of neustadt bei coburg and at the multigenerational house of the awo in bad rodach, ministerial council robert hocherl of the state ministry for family, work and social affairs was able to open the first two of these facilities in the region on monday. According to hocherl, a "good day for families in the district", the new support points should help to strengthen the educational competence of the parents through voluntary offers. For in the field of education, the state government has not only been making a great deal of effort since the discussion about the so-called "helicopter parents", but also in the field of childcare deficits identified. Courses and events that reach parents where they need them are intended to provide a remedy. "Anyone who has a child has other things to do than attend a six-week course!" With these words, hocherl defended the concept against calls for a "parent driver’s license".

City has always been family-friendly

It was not by chance that neustadt was chosen as the first location: family-friendliness has not been a foreign concept there for a long time: not only does the infrastructure with favorable building land, childcare places in seven kindergartens and an after-school care center, as well as the choice between all types of schools, meet the needs of families. A "network for children, young people and families" was founded here at the end of 2005 from professionals who work professionally with these target groups. The goal: all those involved should network better, exchange ideas and jointly develop strategies to further improve the situation of families in neustadt. A "family representative" has been in charge since 2014 around the interfaces between politics and family.

Schaeffler praises its graduates

Schaeffler praises its graduates

He congratulated the students on behalf of the shareholders and the entire board of management at the conference center of the herzogenaurach company on their "great result". The young employees have earned their bachelor's or master's degrees over the past four and a half years during dual studies at the company and at two universities, and have done so with great success, according to a press release.

All are taken over
Head of education bernhard schwab emphasized the "outstanding achievements" of schaeffler graduates from mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, business informatics and general industry. The three master's students achieved a combined grade point average of 1.47, the total of 17 "two in one students" the ohm university nurnberg an average of 1.95 and the 16 students of the dual university mannheim an average of 1.94.
For their special achievements, the three best students of the year, martin ernstberger (with an average of 1.3), christian dietrich (1.2), and tobias scheurer (1.4), received an education voucher of 1500 euros each from schaeffler for internal further education. They accepted their offer of permanent employment.

Women’s association asks for cake donations

The local association of the catholic german women’s association (KDFB) runs the annual "altstadtfest-cafe" at the herzogenaurach festival. The income from the sale of coffee and cakes enables the women’s association to care for other women, to show solidarity and to give help, according to a press release from the KDFB. At the annual general meeting, for example, a donation of 500 euros was made to the girls’ home in herzogenaurach. The local association donated a total of 2700 euros last year, among other things to the lions relief organization, to the herzogenaurach twin town of nova gradiska, to the parish, to tembladera/peru and to the friends of the nativity scene for the preservation of the parish nativity scene.

After the first call for donations of cakes last year, so many cakes arrived that they could be sold right up to the end, writes christina dabler. Even pastor helmut hetzel, who has once again put his beautiful parish garden at the disposal of the women’s association, has baked cakes.

The proceeds from the sale of cakes and coffee will be used again this year for aid projects such as the solidarity fund of the KDFB "women helping women" used. Poverty not only deprives people of the foundations for a quiet, peaceful life, it also threatens their very existence. And support is not only needed in the wider world; help is often needed right next door in herzogenaurach.

“A workable compromise”

When michael eckstein, chairman of the city youth council, thinks back to the past year, he remembers budget negotiations, discussions and performance agreements. As is well known, the city of coburg has cut services due to cost-cutting measures. "We have explained to each faction why this goes to our substance", said eckstein at the spring plenary meeting in the coje hall on monday evening. After all, thanks to the tough negotiations, the originally planned cancellation of funds in 2013 was reduced from 54,000 euros to 36,000 euros. "It's a workable compromise that we can live with", said eckstein.

Employees informed
Nonetheless, dismissals had to be pronounced, this concerned the two cleaners who were employed on a part-time basis. The work is now being done by a cleaning company. Furthermore, the janitorial hours were cut from 20 to 15 and the seasonal employee was only employed for six hours instead of nine. The administrative employee had also changed jobs after 16 years. After the legal blocking period, the position is to be filled for 1. July to be newly occupied.
According to third mayor hans-heinrich ulmann (CSB), the negotiations were fair. "It was always possible to have a constructive conversation." The executive committee of the city youth ring had drawn attention to the situation with numerous actions. After all, 3440 support postcards were handed over to the city council.
It was possible to secure important components, said the chairman. 180 children took part in the vacation program and a children's camp was organized. The juleika training course, which is to be offered again this year, was also a success.
Second chairman alexander muller praised all the staff who had supported the city youth council during the very difficult period. "They did not complain, they showed full commitment until the end and did not let us down." Muller describes the children's and youth festival youco, which will take place again this year, as a highlight.
Sebastian straubel informed about the "horsturz" project. Young people can create their own radio show once a month with their own themes and music tracks. As a rough success the businesswoman christine volker described the coje-cafe. This had visited around 3000 families. The cafe will continue to be open on fridays. Ronald friedrich announced that the city youth council is a member of the local alliance "coburg the family city." The family pass, according to friedrich, needs to become even more well known.
Reinhold ehl, head of the office for youth and family, informed about the overall concept of youth work. The CSB parliamentary group had submitted the application for this. Three workshops were held with professional support, the members of the city youth council received questionnaires. The short version of the concept is to be presented to the city council in the fall.
